A Month Sheltering in Place

It’s been a month that we have been ‘Sheltering in Place’ due to the pandemic here at Paradise Lake Family Campground. It certainly reminds of the movie Groundhog Day as each day is seemingly a blur and mostly repetitive of the day before. But we still find ways to get out to explore and have an adventure. Here in this part of Virginia it is loaded with history and on top of that it is Beautiful Virginia Spring Time!

Sheltering in Place is what you make of it. We are able to keep our daily walks of 10000 steps while listening to iTunes on our phone. Then happy hour at 3 for a nice glass of wine.
Touring Virginia country roads.
Appomattox Courthouse National Historical Park is closed but we parked a mile or so away and walked the old Lynchburg to Richmond stagecoach road into the park.

The last confederate casualties of the war. The cemetery is located on the last battle field.
The McLean House is known for the surrender of the Confederate Army of Northern Virginia in the village of Appomattox Courthouse.
