Milwaukee

It’s Labor Day weekend and Milwaukee is buzzing with excitement. We found a RV spot for a week at the Wisconsin State Fair RV Campground. It’s the Northeast parking lot of the fairground with RV hookups. Hey, it’s Labor Day weekend and beggars can’t be choosey. Actually, the facilities were pretty good.

Normally, I would copy camping reservation information along with the address into our digital calendar and use that for the GPS. For some strange reason, I did not do that this time and when it was time to set the GPS, I did a quick check on Google Maps for the address. And that is how we ended up at the wrong place. We ended up at the CLOSED main gate. Finding the right location reduced my lifespan a few hours as it was stressful maneuvering through traffic and circling around the huge fairgrounds until we saw a bunch of RV’s.

Friday, we thought it would be a good day for a driving tour and to get down by the water. It’s a long weekend and maybe there will not be much traffic downtown.  We were partially right in that it was a good day but we were wrong about less traffic and getting down by the water. We had our fill of crowds and traffic so we just kept on driving and looked for other things to do.
