Day trip To San Diego Coast

The Pacific along the San Diego coastline is probably one of the most beautiful coast that we have visited. We tried to take in as much as we could for a day trip, but there is so much to see. First, we visited our best place, La Jolla Cove. I’ll let the photography show you why. Getting there was easy but finding a parking spot took about a half hour waiting for someone to leave. From there we followed the coastline south to Point Loma and visited our second best scenic site; Cabrillo National Monument.

After reviewing this shot on my laptop, I noticed a black fin sticking out of the water, top right. (La Jolla Cove) For you doubters, this was not photoshopped this time.
I found this shot to be interesting. The color contrast, the rising tide and the person is the focal point, barefooted, wondering how is she going to get out of there?

Easy to tell which direction is towards the Pacific. It’s windy here most of the time. Great place to fly a kite. (La Jolla Cove)

On one of our desert hikes, we found these four abandon rock buildings. Being curious, I googled and found a Los Angeles Times 17 December 1937 advertisement advertising T Cross K Dude Ranch that had four comfortable rock cottages to enjoy horseback riding, hiking, dancing, pack trips and tennis.

    1. It’s not bad rekindling old memories. I would not want to live in Southern Ca, but visiting is nice. My Navy time here, like you, is full of great memories in San Diego.

Say something, love to hear from you!
