Old Friends, Gettysburg and the Amish Country

Our destination today was Otter Creek Campground along the Susquehanna River near York Pa. We came here to relax and also meet up with good friends Mike and Bobbie. Mike and I served in the Navy together in the mid-70’s and have kept in touch all these years. We enjoyed each other’s company and got all caught up. We ate good and enjoyed some craft beer. They took us to Gettysburg and gave us a guided tour. He is a civil war history buff and we got to hear many interesting facts. Then the next day, they took us to Lancaster for a day in Amish country.  It was really a great time.

We thoroughly enjoyed our visit at Kitchen Kettle Village in Lancaster county. The village showcases all that Lancaster County has to offer. Sampling of different canned and jarred fruits and vegetables were awesome. You could watch the folks canning products that would be sold at some time in the future. Really enjoyable.
