Yuma Territorial Prison

The Palms RV Resort has been a good place to relax and celebrate our 40th wedding anniversary. We did take some time to horse around a little.

Yuma is famous for it’s legendary territorial prison. It held some of the roughest and meanest characters of the wild west back in the late 1800’s and early 1900’s. A total of 3000 prisoners, including 29 women. It is now a state park and well visited. The first inmates were locked into their new cells they built themselves.

We are staying at:

The Palms RV Resort in Yuma Az. We have full hook-ups; water, sewer, 50amp electrical, cable and Wifi(not very good). We are in site 245. There is not much to do outside of the park. We would stay here again for only short stays. We paid $48.50/night.
