Big Bend Ranch State Park

We left the mile high town of Fort Davis with a sustained 15 mph wind from the West and gusting to 25.  That was a direct ‘in our face’ head wind as we traveled to the Big Bend area.  The wind did let up as we made our way to lower elevations.  Just before noon, we made our destination to Lajitas, Tx., right on edge of the Rio Grande River.  We are located between two parks; to the north is Big Bend Ranch State Park and to the south, Big Bend National Park.

It took about an half hour to set-up camp and then off to the state park.  We traveled on Texas Farm Road 170 that hugged the Rio Grande River.  The views were spectacular (Denise took 166 pictures till the battery ran out).  Pictures can’t capture the WOW that we saw but I don’t know any other way to capture it.  So here is our photo op’s of this afternoon.

    1. We have been enjoying our trip a lot. I hope you are keeping the morning crew in order. They need adult supervision…

Say something, love to hear from you!
