Biking the Creeper Trail in Southwest Virginia

We are on a week long trip visiting our daughter Elizabeth and her family in Abingdon Virginia.  One of the activities that we had planned was for Will (our son-in-law) and myself to bike the 34 mile Creeper Trail.  The trail is nationally known for it’s most scenic and historical values.  It is an old rail route through some of the prettiest mountains and following the best trout streams in Virginia.  The name Creeper was given to the train route because of the hardship of the climb from Abingdon to the state of North Carolina.

Here is a link for more detail about the trail.

I captured our adventure on this video.  It’s about 6 minutes long and requires a good wifi connection.  It’s HD quality.
